Sound Installation
Monochords- Water – Wood – Magnets – Metal – Acryl
“ARKHE”, beginning, principle, origin, is in ancient Greek philosophy the designation for the primal substance of the world and generally for the beginning of causal chains, whose end result is empirical phenomena.
ARKHE is a sound installation in which the uncertain timing of the drips, the delicate sound of fragile mechanisms in motion, the water falling, and the resonance of strings on each monochord converge, intertwined with recurring personal fascinations: perpetual motion, alchemy, rare-earth elements, magnetism, the elements, rituals.
The room morphs into a resonating vessel where what is seen and what is heard merge in an intimate relationship without beginning or end, inviting us to uncover its essence—the interplay of space, positions, silence amidst sound, the rustle of movement, and the organic process of a natural randomness inherent in its mechanical and simple organization.
